Context

Eating behavior in autistic children may reflect sensory processing, reactions to novel food, and feeding interactions. Multi-source records first require careful linkage and harmonization.

How might sensory sensitivity, food neophobia, and feeding behavior jointly relate to autism symptoms and dietary patterns?

My role

Project lead, responsible for data organization, cleaning and linkage, statistical analysis, and interpretation or writing. Timeline and collaboration details are to be confirmed.

Approach

Descriptive and correlational checks, regression and PROCESS mediation for directional hypotheses, and EBICglasso networks for conditional associations.

Process

Link records → harmonize variables → calculate dietary metrics → describe and correlate → regress and mediate → estimate and validate networks.

Challenge & response

Name variation, missingness, and a DDS ceiling effect required explicit matching rules, a clear audit trail, and reconsideration of relative intake measures.

Current output

Several analysis rounds are complete. Effect sizes and final conclusions remain unpublished and are intentionally omitted.

Reflection

Statistical significance is not automatically explanatory; measurement range, ceiling effects, and model assumptions must be judged with the research question.
